The Eye Institute of Nevada (EINV) will provide exceptional eye care to residents of Southern Nevada and beyond. One of the Institute’s four pillars of distinction Clinical care will be integrate with academics, research, and community engagement. A comprehensive digital infrastructure will support these pillars to ensure the highest quality clinical care for all patients, including an all-inclusive telemedicine program for rural Nevadans.
EINV has partnered with the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV to offer a comprehensive clinical training experience for ophthalmology residents. EINV leadership is now developing this residency program with the goal of having our first residency class in 2026 or 2027. This partnership will attract top faculty and help establish EINV as a premier academic, research, and clinical site in the Southwest.
Clinical care at EINV will balance the needs of the community with the training needs of future ophthalmologists. To achieve this, the Institute will conduct a needs assessment to determine community eye-care needs and guide resource allocation within the Institute's curriculum. Curriculum development will encompass subspecialties such as cataract, cornea, retina, glaucoma, pediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics, and neuro-ophthalmology.
The Institute will be established with a commitment to providing optimal patient care in a teaching and learning environment. Clinical services at EINV will feature state-of-the-art facilities with cutting-edge diagnostic and surgical instruments to ensure the best possible care and outcomes for patients and to attract top faculty and ophthalmology residents. These facilities will include advanced surgical equipment for training new ophthalmologists in cataract, vitreoretinal, refractive, glaucoma, pediatric, and oculoplastic surgery.
EINV will establish rigorous patient care standards and a robust quality-assurance program, solidifying its position as Nevada's leading eye care provider. This includes patient education on maintaining eye health and preventing eye disease. Additionally, the Institute will collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare providers, including optometrists, to promote holistic patient care and ensure patients understand the connection between overall health and eye health.
EINV is dedicated to improving the quality of and access to eye care across Nevada, particularly in rural areas. Through partnerships and affiliations with other clinical sites statewide, the Institute will offer a full range of ophthalmic care to Nevadans through collaborations with other providers and satellite clinics.
